Completing your PM Kisan eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) is absolutely mandatory. If your eKYC is not complete, you will not receive any future installments, even if your name is on every list. This guide explains the different ways to complete your eKYC and helps you choose the best method for your situation.
Which eKYC Method is Right for You?
There are three ways to do your eKYC. Choose the one that is easiest for you.
| Method | Who Should Use It? | What You Need |
|---|---|---|
| Online OTP-Based eKYC | Farmers whose mobile number is linked to their Aadhaar card. This is the fastest method if you have the correct mobile number. | Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar-linked Mobile Number (with network). |
| Offline Biometric eKYC | Farmers whose mobile number is not linked to their Aadhaar, or who are not comfortable with the online process. | Your Aadhaar Card, Your Fingerprint. |
| Face Authentication eKYC | Farmers who have a smartphone and are facing issues with both OTP and fingerprint methods. | PM Kisan Mobile App installed on a smartphone. |
Method 1: How to Do eKYC Online with OTP
This is the most common method. Follow these steps carefully:
- Go to the official PM Kisan website and find the eKYC page here.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and click ‘Search’.
- The system will ask you to enter your ‘Aadhaar Registered Mobile No’. Enter it and click ‘Get Mobile OTP’.
- Enter the 4-digit OTP you receive on your mobile phone and click ‘Submit For Auth’.
- If everything matches, you will see a message “eKYC has been done successfully“. Your process is complete.
Pro-Tip: What if the website shows “eKYC is already done”?
If you see this message, it means your eKYC is complete in the system. You do not need to do it again. Your next step is to check your full Beneficiary Status to ensure that other things like Land Seeding and Bank Seeding are also correct.
How to Check Your eKYC Status Correctly
There is no separate page to check only your “KYC Status.” Your KYC status is one part of your main Beneficiary Status report. Here is how to check it:
- Visit the official Beneficiary Status page.
- Enter your Mobile Number or Registration Number and the captcha code.
- After you enter the OTP, your full status report will be displayed.
- Look for the line that says “eKYC Status.” If it shows “Success” in green, you are fine. If it shows “No” or is blank, you must complete your eKYC immediately.
FAQs of PM Kisan eKYC 2025
The portal says ‘Record Not Found’ when I enter my Aadhaar for eKYC. What does this mean?
‘Record Not Found’ means you are not yet registered as a beneficiary under the PM Kisan scheme. You cannot do eKYC until your initial registration is submitted and approved. First, you must complete the ‘New Farmer Registration’ process.
I am not receiving the OTP for eKYC. What can I do?
This is a common issue. First, ensure you are entering the mobile number that is specifically linked to your Aadhaar card, not just any mobile number you own. Check your phone’s network signal. If it still doesn’t work, the servers may be busy. Try again late at night or early in the morning. If the problem persists, the best solution is to visit your nearest CSC (Common Service Centre) and complete the eKYC using the biometric (fingerprint) method, which does not require an OTP.
My eKYC status shows ‘Success’ but I still didn’t get my last installment. Why?
This is a very important question. A successful eKYC is only ONE of the three mandatory requirements. If your eKYC is successful, the problem is almost certainly with one of the other two:
1. Land Seeding: Your land records are not verified by the state.
2. Aadhaar Bank Account Seeding: Your bank account is not seeded for DBT/NPCI payments.
Check your full Beneficiary Status to see which of these shows ‘No’ and get that specific issue fixed.
